Review methodology
Evidence modes
- Researched. Claims are tied to a source the editor read, with the access date. The launch drafts use this mode.
- Hands-on. Reserved for pages with original test notes, conditions, dates, and evidence. None of the launch drafts use this mode. Reading other people’s reviews does not count.
- Editorial judgment. A labeled inference, kept separate from a source’s wording.
Products
A product record needs a manufacturer, model, region, official specification URL, and the date it was checked. Strengths and limits are copied from what that page supports, or they are omitted. There is no star rating. A dated price can be stored internally and still kept off the page when it would be mistaken for a current price.
What a clay family does not prove
Earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain are practical groupings. They do not, by themselves, prove microwave, dishwasher, oven, or food-contact suitability. A lead-free label does not prove a finished pot is safe for food. Cone 06 is not cone 6, and a cone is heatwork in a stated context, not one universal temperature.
